Eye Must Admit
The eyes have it!
I can honestly admit, I am terrible at keeping up with moisturizers for the under eye area. I have been unsuccessful in having eye creams be apart of my normal skincare routine.
Lately, with the quarantine, I have been noticing a lot of under eye drying and puffiness.
I want to remedy it!
Skin Conditions:
Dryness in the under eye area
Eczema prone skin
A question came to mind. Is there a big difference with eye creams compared to the face moisturizer offered by the same brand?
I definitely wonder!
Do I need something specifically for the eyes or am I applying my face moisturizer incorrectly? Jury is still out on that one!
Since I have been terrible at applying under eye cream, I will work on consistency to see if it makes a big difference.
My First Impressions
I started off my morning the last few weeks applying these eye creams in the morning:
Origins GinZing
The texture of this cream applied a little tacky under the eye. It reminded me a little bit of how the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer felt. Textures are different, but how the Origins cream felt under my eyes was the same tacky feeling I get when I apply that brand of primer.
The tint of the eye cream is on the pinkish side in the jar but does sheer out. For some reason when I apply this cream it adds a layer of camouflage to my dark circles. This is a good one to apply under makeup for dark circles.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream
The texture of this cream is a little wet. It reminds me of an ordinary over the counter wet lotion.
Since the texture of this cream is on the wetter side, I would not wear this one under makeup. I am a T- Zone sweater, it would not be good.
I did find that during the day, I had to frequently reapply this cream because it absorbed into my skin rather quickly.
Ole Henriksen C Rush Brightening
The texture of this cream is wet and silky. More moisturizing than the Bobbi Brown and the smell is refreshing.
The color of this cream is on the orange side and does sheer out. It did not provide any additional dark circle coverage I found with the Origins cream but no points deducted there since that was not the purpose of the cream.
The cream dries down to a sticky texture which is not my favorite texture. I did not feel like it provided much moisture for my under eye area.
Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment
The texture of this cream is thick and creamy. It was love a first swipe! This under cream does everything I need it to do.
It apply's so nice under the eye and dries down into a silky moisturizing texture.
This cream lasted longer in terms of reapplication then the rest and is my favorite so far.
Next Steps:
I will isolate my usage of these creams over the next few weeks to determine if I notice any improvements in the conditions under my eyes.
