Dalgona Coffee

Ok! So I am not one for trends (so I thought). After watching upwards of 20/25 videos on other people doing this. I wanted to give it a try!

A few problems I had though...

To start, I did not have a whisk (basic kitchen essential) and I had no hand mixer. The only tool I could bring to the table was a KitchenAid Mixer (my pride and joy). I thought it would be a bit ridiculous to use a KitchenAid with this recipe so I abandoned the whole idea.

A few days go by, more videos watched (because now they keep popping up under my recommendations on YouTube) and now I just have to do this! KitchenAid Mixer it is!

I already started collecting ingredients, weeks prior so I was all set on my instant coffee and sugar.

Coffee and Sugar

Note: I made some ingredient adjustments to accommodate my KitchenAid.

  • 2 packages of single use coffee

  • 4 tbsps of sugar (I let the universe guide me on the measurement)

  • 4 to 5 tbsps of hot water

  • Milk (Dairy or Non Dairy)

Pro Tip: I made this twice and I found it easier to mix all the ingredients together in the hot water first, allowing the sugar and coffee to dissolve before whipping.

At first glance it did not look like anything was happening...

Then, all of a sudden, right before my eyes!...

Final Steps:

  • Add ice and milk of your choice into a fancy glass (required) and scoop the creamy mixture on top of your milk

First Impressions:

I really liked this! I honestly was not expecting to like it!

Tip: I think the flavor of this drink is in your sugar to coffee ratio. Be sure to add the amount of sugar into the coffee and hot water mixture to your taste.

I hope you enjoy!
