Cast Iron Biscuits
Just Like Grandma MmmKay!
Let's get right down to it!
Ingredients:
One can of biscuits
Pre-shredded Cheese (You can get the mixed bag with cheddar, mozzarella, and colby jack)
Garlic Powder (To Taste)
Italian Seasoning (To Taste)
Butter (One Stick)
Prep:
Melt one stick of butter in the microwave
Add the garlic powder and Italian seasoning (to your taste) to the mixture. I like a garlic butter sauce so I tend to be heavy handed with it (Shake, Shake, Shake)
The Work, The Werk:
The biscuits come precut so separate each individual biscuit. In the end you should have a top half and a bottom half
Flat each piece of dough, just a little with your hand and add the melted butter and garlic to each piece
Add as much cheese as you like and roll each piece into a ball
Add the balls to the cast iron and make sure there isn't too much space between so the biscuits can rise up
Drizzle a bit more of the butter, garlic and Italian seasoning mixture on top
Home Stretch
Place the cast iron in a 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes* (Depending on your oven)
Check the biscuits at the 25 minute mark to make sure the biscuits are on track
The Finale
Once the biscuits are ready, drizzle on the last bit of the garlic and Italian butter and let it rest for a few minutes.
