Bread Makes Life Better
No Need to Knead
Ingredients:
Flour (3 1/2 cups)
Salt (1 1/2 tsp)
Yeast (1/2 tsp)
Water (1 3/4 cups)
Butter (Optional) ...but yes
The Work:
In a bowl combine the flour, salt and yeast
Add the water and gently mix until the flour is moist
Cover and rest overnight
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees
Place cast iron in the oven to preheat
While the oven is heating up and before placing the dough in the cast iron, fold the dough a few times and form the dough into a bread shape
Let the dough rest for 30 minutes while the oven and cast iron heats up
My cast iron did not have a lid so I added a piece of aluminum foil and cooked covered for 30 minutes
After 30 minutes, cook uncovered for another 20-25 minutes.
After 20 minutes check in on your bread to make sure it is not burning!
The Finale:
Take the bread out the oven and let rest
