Bread Makes Life Better

No Need to Knead


  • Flour (3 1/2 cups)

  • Salt (1 1/2 tsp)

  • Yeast (1/2 tsp)

  • Water (1 3/4 cups)

  • Butter (Optional) ...but yes

The Work:

  • In a bowl combine the flour, salt and yeast

  • Add the water and gently mix until the flour is moist

  • Cover and rest overnight

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees

  • Place cast iron in the oven to preheat

  • While the oven is heating up and before placing the dough in the cast iron, fold the dough a few times and form the dough into a bread shape

  • Let the dough rest for 30 minutes while the oven and cast iron heats up

  • My cast iron did not have a lid so I added a piece of aluminum foil and cooked covered for 30 minutes

  • After 30 minutes, cook uncovered for another 20-25 minutes.

  • After 20 minutes check in on your bread to make sure it is not burning!

The Finale:

  • Take the bread out the oven and let rest

  • Congratulate yourself!
